Terms & conditions

Last updated: March 23, 2026

We always aim to meet your needs and exceed expectations. To keep things clear for both of us, it’s important to document what we each commit to.

In short

You engage Sitelane as a strategic digital partner. We help shape positioning, write the content, and build and maintain your website on an ongoing basis. After full payment you own the website, including code, design, content and any custom functionality. We offer subscriptions with monthly billing for 24 months, including strategy, copy, hosting, maintenance and support.

1. What you agree to as the client

You confirm that you’re authorised to enter this agreement on behalf of yourself, your company or your organisation. You provide all required materials and information on time, give feedback within agreed deadlines and keep the project moving—deadlines apply both ways. You also accept the payment schedule tied to your subscription.

2. What Sitelane agrees to

We have the experience and skills to deliver everything we’ve agreed and do so professionally and on time. We strive to meet every deadline and treat confidential information with care.

3. Project planning

Typical build time is four to six weeks depending on scope. The strategy and copy phase precedes design. Extensive custom work usually adds about three weeks. Client responses ideally arrive within one business day; otherwise the schedule shifts.

4. What’s included with the website

The number of pages in your package, strategy and positioning, conversion-focused copy, on-page SEO, responsive design for desktop/tablet/mobile and custom forms. Exact inclusions vary by package and are recorded when the engagement begins.

5. Revisions

Projects include two revision rounds on the initial concept. Additional changes are billed separately. Once the main concept is approved we build the rest of the site in the same style.

6. What’s included in the monthly maintenance

Premium hosting via Cloudflare, SSL, version control, uptime monitoring, software updates, unlimited content changes and support when you need it. Depending on your package, monthly visitor reports, landing pages, CRM integrations, custom tools and ongoing visibility tuning may also be included.

7. Technical support and response times

You can request updates at any time via Trello. Changes are usually implemented within a few hours. Technical issues caused by Sitelane are fixed at no charge; third-party issues may involve extra cost and longer lead times.

8. Hosting and uptime

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. For uptime guarantees we refer to Cloudflare’s Service Level Agreement, available at cloudflare.com. We monitor availability actively and notify you of incidents.

9. Version control and backups

All website code is managed with Git and stored in three places: GitHub, the Cloudflare platform and a local development environment. Every change is traceable and recoverable. For projects without a database (JAMstack), the Git repository is the full restore point.

For projects with a database component (such as Cloudflare D1 or R2), backups and data security are Cloudflare’s responsibility under their SLA. Sitelane is not liable for loss of data stored and managed via the Cloudflare platform.

10. Security

Sites are built by default on a JAMstack architecture without a server-side database, which inherently limits the attack surface. Infrastructure-level security updates are handled by Cloudflare under their SLA. Sitelane applies additional security measures where appropriate.

11. Communication guidelines

You have a dedicated contact. We use Trello for project management. Requests and changes are submitted via a ticket under ⚡️ Huidig verzoek. We prefer to work with one representative from your organisation. You consolidate internal feedback before sharing it with us.

12. Liability

We deliver to professional standards but cannot guarantee a flawless outcome. Liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant services over the last six months. Indirect or consequential damages are excluded.

13. Ownership and transfer of the website

After full payment you own the website, including code, design, content and custom functionality. You’re entitled to access to related accounts (hosting, analytics, forms) and, when the engagement ends, a full export of the site environment including code, assets and any design files. We provide reasonable assistance if you migrate to another provider.

The site may use open-source components with their own licence terms. Sitelane only uses components licensed for commercial use.

We may reuse generic techniques and workflows in other projects and showcase the project in our portfolio unless agreed otherwise.

14. Access to the site

You may grant third parties access, but we’re not responsible for issues they cause. We’ll help where possible, potentially at extra cost.

15. Showcasing our work

We may feature parts of the project in our portfolio and state that Sitelane built the site. Removing this credit costs €250.

16. Scope and additional work

Scope is defined by the package you choose. Functionality outside that scope is delivered at a day rate of €750, agreed with you in advance.

17. Client requirements

After subscribing, deliver all required information and media in one go. We start only when onboarding is complete.

18. Content supplied by the client

If you supply your own content, you’re responsible for completeness and correct delivery according to our guidelines.

19. Launching your website

We aim to go live as soon as possible, even if not everything is finished yet, so the site can start delivering value.

20. Payment schedule

Your payment method is charged monthly according to your package. The minimum term is 24 months unless otherwise agreed in writing.

21. Early termination

If you end the agreement early we charge 50% of the remaining balance; we then terminate the contract.

22. Hosting after cancellation

After cancellation hosting stays active for at least 60 days so you have enough time to migrate the website to another provider.

23. Late payments

If payment is 30 days overdue we pause the site. Once arrears plus a €50 reactivation fee are paid we bring it back online.

24. Cancellation

After the minimum term of 24 months you may cancel with one month’s notice unless agreed otherwise. Cancellation must be in writing.

25. Privacy policy and terms

You are responsible for complying with applicable privacy and terms-related laws. We can place texts but cannot guarantee their substance.

26. Governing law

Dutch law applies to all agreements. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in our district.

27. Attorney fees

In legal disputes the losing party pays the prevailing party’s reasonable attorney fees.

28. Indemnification

Each party indemnifies the other against claims arising from material breaches of obligations, statements or warranties in this agreement.
